Introduction:

Sudan economy was first exposed to Insurance industry in the early Twentieth century during the Condominium Colonization. This was limited to agricultural schemes i.e. Gezira Scheme and Foreign Trade.
After Independence the main players of this industry were branches of foreign companies, agencies and brokers. In 1971 this industry was completely Sudanized.
In general, Insurance concept was well deep rooted in the Sudanese culture by native co-operative groupings whether in field of agriculture, fishery and cattle raising, throughout Sudan vast geographical area under the slogan of “One for All and All for One”.
The Insurance industry in its scientific term and references started its build up by the Pioneer companies led by Sudanese Insurance & Reinsurance Co. (SUDINRECO) underwriting various types of Insurance.

SUDINRECO was the initiator of establishing the Insurance Association in the indigenous market and had the honour of Chairing the 1st Executive Committee of the Association.
SUDINRECO is one of the founders of African Insurance Organization (AIO) and our Chairman addressed the 1st AIO conference held in Mauritius 1972.
We have been also honoured to be one of the founders of General Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF) in 1974 and shouldered the responsibility of the 1st Chairmanship in 1974 represented by our Chairman Mr. Izz Eldein Elsayed who is currently the Chairman of the Sudanese Businessmen Association.

The Sudanese Insurance and Reinsurance Company Ltd (SUDINRECO) is registered under the Sudanese Companies Act.
SUDINRECO was established by a group of Sudanese businessmen in 1967.
Beside the direct Insurance, SUDINRECO writes Reinsurance business from the international markets.

SUDINRECO has branch offices in Port Sudan, Port Sudan Free zone area, El-Obeid, El-Gadarif, Kassala, Dongola, Wad Madani, Khartoum South, Khartoum East and Khartoum North besides principal agencies all over the country.

SUDINRECO has established a reputation for high professional competence in the various Insurance covers; Commercial, Industrial, Engineering, Agricultural & Live Stock and Aviation fields.

With such wide range of activities, SUDINRECO is considered as the pioneering multi-disciplinary Insurance firm in Sudan.
